Small team. Finished products.
SwiftBlue is a digital product studio based in Boston. We take ideas from a sketch to the App Store, Google Play, and the open web, and we keep them running afterward.
What we do
We design and build software products that people use every day: an AI eating assistant, a co-parenting app, a civic search tool, a one-button racing game. The subjects vary. The standard does not. Each one has to feel obvious on a phone, respect the people using it, and keep improving after launch.
We work as a small, senior team. The person who designs a screen is usually the person who ships it, which keeps loops short and quality high. We prototype early, test on real devices, and prefer a focused product that works over a sprawling one that almost does.
How we think about AI
Most of our recent products use large language models, computer vision, or retrieval. We treat these as materials, not features. If a model makes the product simpler for the person holding the phone, it belongs. If it is there to say "AI" on a landing page, it does not.
Why a studio
SwiftBlue builds its own products and keeps them. That changes the incentives. There is no hand-off at launch and no next client to move on to, so the only thing that matters is whether the app is still worth opening a year later. It is why everything on this site is live, maintained, and in use today.
A few things we hold to.
- 01
Obvious beats clever
If someone needs a tour, the design is not done. We cut until the next step is clear.
- 02
Real devices, real people
We test on the phones people own, on the networks they have, with our own families as the first users.
- 03
Privacy is a feature
Collect less. Explain what we keep. Make leaving as easy as joining.
- 04
Launch is the halfway point
Store listings, support, updates, and measurement are part of the product, not a chore after it.
Let's build something worth opening.
A product idea, a partnership, or a question about one of our apps. We read everything.
